Therapy for Young Adults in Arizona

Your late teens and twenties are full of firsts: first leases, first jobs, first serious relationships, first time making every decision yourself. Therapy can give you a steady place to think it through.

Young Adults

Why This Season Can Feel So Heavy

Young adulthood is often described as the best years of your life, which can make it harder to admit when it does not feel that way. Anxiety about the future, depression, relationship ups and downs, pressure from family and comparison with everyone online can pile up quickly.

Crystal enjoys working with people at this age because they are still becoming who they will be, and the work is not only about getting through school or a hard year. It is about growing into a grounded adult.

What Young Adults Often Bring

  • Anxiety about school, work, money or the future
  • Depression or feeling behind where you thought you would be
  • Intense emotions and relationships that feel all or nothing
  • Moving out, moving away or changing direction
  • Figuring out who you are apart from your family

Therapy That Is Yours

Crystal works best with people who want therapy for themselves, not because someone else signed them up. If a parent or partner suggested it, that is okay. The consultation is a chance to find your own reason for being there. Work may draw from CBT, DBT and ACT, with practical skills you can use between sessions.

Balancing Independence and Family

For many young adults, family is still close even as life moves in a new direction. You might be living at home, paying your own bills for the first time or making choices your parents would not make. Holding onto connection while becoming your own person is real work, and it can bring guilt, conflict and second-guessing.

Therapy is a place to sort out what you want, separate from what everyone else expects, and to practice the conversations that feel hardest to have.
