Therapy for Stress and Burnout
Burnout rarely arrives all at once. It builds quietly until rest no longer restores you. Therapy can help you understand what is draining you and what would give something back.
Stress and Burnout
What Burnout Can Feel Like
- Exhaustion that a weekend off does not touch
- Irritability or numbness with people you care about
- Dreading work, caregiving or responsibilities you once handled well
- Trouble focusing, sleeping or switching off
- A sense that you are running on empty and cannot stop
Why It Is Worth Taking Seriously
Stress that goes on long enough starts to shape how you think, how you sleep and how you show up in your relationships. Many people keep pushing because they are good at pushing. Therapy is a place to stop and look at the whole picture: the pressures you carry, the expectations you hold yourself to, and the patterns that keep you from asking for help.
How Crystal Works With Stress
Crystal offers a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can go at your own pace. Work may draw from CBT, to notice the thoughts that keep the pressure on, and from mindfulness-based and somatic approaches, to help your body come down from constant alert. The goal is not a perfect routine. It is finding methods that fit your real life.
Small Signs Before the Crash
- Sunday evenings that feel heavy before the week has even started
- Needing caffeine, screens or a drink to shift gears
- Skipping meals, movement or time with friends to keep up
- Feeling tense in your jaw, shoulders or stomach most of the day
- Losing interest in things that used to recharge you
What Recovery Can Look Like
Recovering from burnout is rarely one big change. It is usually a series of smaller ones: saying no to one thing, protecting one evening, noticing the thought that says you have to do it all yourself, and letting your body rest before it forces you to.
Therapy helps you choose those changes on purpose and stay with them long enough to feel the difference. Sessions start weekly for the first 6 to 8 weeks, which gives new habits room to settle in before sessions spread out.
How to Begin
A free consultation of about 15 minutes comes first. Then an intake session, where the goals for treatment are set. After that, sessions are usually weekly for the first 6 to 8 weeks, then every 2, 3 or 4 weeks, and never less than once a month.
Because sessions are held by secure telehealth, there is no commute to add to an already full week.
